CSRA RESA supports FIP and GSE Student Writing Demands

Effective, targeted feedback is so important to improving student learning.  Formative Instructional Practice (FIP) provides a wonderful module on how to give effective feedback that allows students to grow academically and to learn how to give peer feedback.

Georgia teachers are now responsible for their own professional learning pathways.  Working together on the effective feedback module or individually working through the module provides pertinent information that can help with instructional planning. You can access the module through GA Formative Instructional Practices.

Student writing is an important part of the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) and is one of the four legs of literacy: reading, writing, speaking, and thinking critically.  So it is critical to marry effective feedback with student writing.

This video from Teacher's Channel gives us a glimpse into how one teacher works with peer feedback.  The beauty of sharing our practices allows us to learn from each other. https://www.teachingchannel.org/video/growth-mindset-young-students

Also, we encourage you to access our Writing Center for Writing Resources. Click here to go to the Writing Center.

NEW!  Register for a 3-part session on Using Formative Assessments to Inform Instruction. First session will be held October 4, 2018. Part 2 and 3 will be held January 17 and March 7, 2019. Click here for more information and to register.

ASSESSMENTS that inform teaching and learning are a critical element for success in any classroom.  Effective and easy-to-use tools are available.
