The objectives of the training and course details include:

  • validate teachers' understanding of open-ended questions on the Georgia Milestones Assessment (i.e., constructed-response and extended-response), which are also featured on many other assessments (e.g., AP exams);

 

  • discuss an instructional framework to help students succeed on these questions; this framework can be applied consistently across grade levels and subjects areas (ELA, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies);

 

  • explore how these questions are scored, with emphasis on using this information to give focused feedback
